ANDY STRAPZ are broad (50mm) elasticized webbing luggage straps with large patches of heavy duty Velcro ® that are designed to replace ocky straps (bungee cords) in most applications. They are used differently, joining to themselves rather than using hooks, making them inherently safer. Stretchy seat belts for securing things! Made in Australia by an Australian owned business. ANDY STRAPZ were invented by Andy White, a senior emergency nurse after a couple of near misses with bungee straps. In fact bungee straps are the second leading cause of permanent eye injury in Australia. Andy has had a life long passion for motorcycling and was determined to resolve the dangers inherent in bungee cords. Initially the invention was only for his own use but as a result of interest shown by friends, his firm Andy Things began to market ANDY STRAPZ to the motorcycle industry in 1996. ANDY STRAPZ are now being sold in motorcycle shops and ARB 4x4 outlets across Australia. After exhaustive testing on both road and trail bikes, often in rough conditions, over tens of thousands of kilometres, the reaction is overwhelmingly positive. Australian Rider magazine described them as “the world's best luggage straps” The strapz have been tested in all sorts of environments. They have been taken on adventure holidays around Australia securing all sorts of equipment on motorcycles, inside and on top of 4x4 vehicles and trailers. Boating applications include securing fishing rods, wrapping sails and holding cabin doors open (the hooks rust on bungee straps). Great results have been reported when securing skis, stocks or snowboards to the roof rack with 1000 mm strapz. The medical community is impressed with the safety aspect, as are the biking press and customers. Campers and hikers find them handy to strap gear to packs or secure equipment. The 50mm webbing is constructed of a polypropylene thread knotted over rubber strips. We then sew heavy duty Velcro &Rcirc; hook and loop tapes in a special strain relief pattern to the webbing. A small handle is also added to allow the user to grasp and tension the strap. ANDY STRAPZ are available in the following sizes 750, 1000, 1250, 1500 and 2500 mm. Sizing is as simple as measuring around the application, end to end. The stretch in the strapz will allow for the overlap.
